The 351 Cleveland featured distinctive canted valves and, in 4V form, very large cylinder-head ports designed for high-rpm breathing.
The 1970 four-barrel version was rated at 300 hp SAE gross. Other Cleveland versions used different heads, compression ratios and ratings, so model years must be compared carefully.
Cleveland V8s powered Mustangs, Torinos and Mercurys. The 1971 Boss 351 was a separate high-performance derivative, not simply a regular 351C 4V.
