History and development

Plymouth played a central role in the American muscle-car era, often combining powerful engines with deliberately straightforward marketing. The Road Runner promoted affordable performance; the GTX offered a more upscale interpretation.

The Barracuda evolved into the E-body ’Cuda, while the aerodynamic Superbird was built for NASCAR homologation. Original 426 Hemi examples are now among the most prized cars of the period.
