Chevrolet
The history of the American small-block and muscle car.

History and development
Chevrolet helped shape the American performance market with its small-block V8, Impala SS, Chevelle SS, Nova and Camaro. Each addressed a different part of the market, from large family cars to drag-racing and pony-car competition.
The Camaro became Mustang’s most direct rival, while legendary 396 and 454 big-block Chevelles embodied the height of the muscle-car era.
